For the most part the setup of these two products went smoothly but I am having trouble finding answers to a few questions;
maybe someone can point me to a site or forum where I might find answers to network questions I have.

For example; I am replacing an older linksys system that needed a (not sure what it is called) a "repeater", a device that plugged into a power outlet that amplified the signal from the linksys. By now I have figured out that the Airport Express is not the same thing, it is a smaller version of the Airport Extreme. However it has an ethernet outlet that I have tried plugging into the DIRECTV HD DVR+ in an attempt to network the iMac (in a different room) so that we could view photos on the new big screen TV in the family room.

DIREC TV's site and handbook discuss in detail how to network a PC, but not so much about Apple (read none!)

The network seems to be working, I am writing this from the family room with my older G4 PowerBook, I can "see" both devices via the Airport Utility, in other words, they are up and functional (green lights on both)

Is there something like "Apple Network For Dummies" out there for those of us who are somewhat Techo challenged?

Thanks for any and all help!

You can use the airport express to extend the range of something like the airport extreme:

info here: http://www.apple.com...es/sharing.html

About the ethernet port on the airport express: With AirPort Express connected to your DSL or cable mode this from the

website above.

1.) Yes, it is the newest version (n) Airport Extreme. It is connected via Ethernet to the Satellite box (only way to get internet in @ my house) and via Ethernet cable to the iMac in the Study, different room from the big screen HDTV/HDDVR. There is no Satellite/Internet connection near the TV. I am attempting to network the TV with the computer in another room.

2.) The web address provided is interesting, but does not really give any specifics as to how everything should be connected together. That, and if it is at all possible to network the HDDVR+ device in the family room via Airport Express are really the two questions that I am attempting to get an answer to.

As I said in the initial post, both devices are working, they both have a steady green light on, I can "see" both of them in Airport Utility and the laptop I am writing this on is in the same room as the TV so the Airport network is working.

Thanks for the help!
