Evidently there's no way to email a group either. That's pretty lame!

You can set up a blast group at blast.aim.com and then use AIM for iPhone to send messages to the whole group at once. This group can consist of screennames and/or SMS numbers. The nice thing is, when people respond, it goes to everyone in the group.

Yes, the above works for sending a NEW txt. But what about if you receive a txt from someone, and wish to reply to the sender PLUS add in another contact (or more). I haven't found a way to do this. Yet on most phones it's a no-brainer.

Theres a way to email multiple people. But not a group. I think? I know if you just want multiple people to email. Then in the send to bar just keep on just write one email after another. or vs versa on contacts

This works for me!!
I use Bitesms to send up to 250 sms message. first open notepad on my PC or Mac.
I then put all numbers (group) I want to send message to in this order on notepad
ie. 555444777, 4445556666, 2223334444, & so on..
copy all from notepad then Email to yourself.
On Iphone open Email & copy all numbers
Open Bitesms & paste numbers in where u would normally type in.
Then your done!!

Not this way
5554447777
4445556666
2223334444

I am enjoying the group messaging on iphone4. However, one is a very active thread that I want to turn off temporarily while I'm at work (so it's not constantly panging) - while leaving other text notifications on. Is there any way to do this?

I am using a free application to do this job. It is called Easy Group
http://itunes.apple....?l=fr&ls=1&mt=8

I create my groups, populate them, and then I can send a text to all group members at a time, without the annoyance to select each person each time. It has also group email feature.

I would have prefer the iPhone to handle this, but perhaps it is too complicated for Apple engineers? ;)

the only problem with that is that it limits the text to be sent to a max of 20 people at a time, is there any way around this?

OR you can just use http://txtpipe.com

Much simpler way of sending group text messages.
