Unfortunately, only two of the buttons are programmable, so unless those programs happen to use left/right arrow keys and left/right mouse buttons for most of their controls, you'd want to look for a remote designed more for media-center use.

WARNING! BE AWARE THAT THE PRODUCT IS A PIECE OF CRAP! http://At least as i...ll fix it ASAP.
I do dozens of presentations a year with my MacBook. I'm currently using an Apple remote with a laser pointer velcroed to its back - an ugly solution.
I have eagerly waited months for the Targus Presenter to be released, since the product was announced last September. I ordered it within hours of its release. At delivery I tore the box out of the UPS driver's hands (yelling a thank you to her as I dashed to my office).
The product requires that you download the appropriate drivers from Targus' website. Upon installation much of my Mac froze. System Preferences would lock when I attempted to activate the Presenter, and worse yet, my wireless Logitech mouse also failed to work.
After multiple attempts at force quitting the locked System Preferences, and multiple locked attempts to send crash info to Apple, I dug through Targus' website to find a well-hidden tech support number (in case you need it, it is 1-877-4TARGUS). Their tech support told me that this is a KNOWN ISSUE, that I need to uninstall the driver, and that HOPEFULLY their engineers will have a new driver with a fix some time next week.
This is been an absolutely Windows-like experience (and I do NOT mean that in a good way). Hey, Targus - WHY THE HELL DID YOU SHIP A PRODUCT THAT YOU KNEW WOULD CRASH YOUR CUSTOMER'S COMPUTERS? Or, did you do such a piss-poor amount of testing that you were not aware that your product will schmucker up a MacBook?
Does Targus know how to develop products for the Mac? Not from what I've seen today.
Either way, I'm now left with the question as to whether to return the product, or wait until Targus (in their own sweet time) fixes the darn thing. Right now, lacking a functional driver, the Targus Presenter is absolutely worthless.

Hi Michael,

I work with Targus. Your post was brought to my attention today. I see it's from February, but we want to address your issues and concerns. Will you please contact Ron DeCamp from Targus directly at RDeCamp@targus.com. He is the product manager for the presenters.

Thank you, and please feel free to contact me as well if you have any questions.

Regards,

Kelly Reeves
