I am thinking of getting an iPod touch, rather than an iPhone. I already have a cell account with AT&T with two lines, a cell phone and a usb network connect dongle for my macbook pro.
I don't want to add another data account by upgrading my cell phone to an iPhone, and I have 18 months to go on the usb dongle contract (which cannot be transferred to an iPhone).
I understand that the iPod touch can access wireless hotspots. Is there a way to connect it to my usb network dongle to connect in spots where there is no wifi? If so, I could travel with the iPod touch instead of carrying my macbook pro. Mostly I just need to get email and do limited web browsing while I'm away from home. And I like my ancient (3 year old) Nokia cell phone just fine!
Thanks for any advice you can give me.
