Intel iMac spits out DVDs, plays & burns CDs fine.

Any suggestions? It spits out any dvd, store bought and those it burned itself.

what exactly happens when you put in a DVD.

It whirrs, whines, and grinds. The disk never appears on the desktop, then pops right out.
