iTunes doubling artwork problem

I got my mac in september and have been loading it with music. I just recently got my ipod touch and it required itunes 8 or higher, so i downloaded it. Since i have downloaded, i am sort of liking the album view (i had always viewed my music in the list format). So i went to go get the album artwork and i noticed that i have about 3 albums that have duplicates. The songs of one album are divided into these two albums (I.E. tracks 1 and 2 on the first album and the rest on the second album). They both have the same album artwork. I can't figure out how to combine them into one album. Anyone else have this problem?
