unfortunate AGP died some years back.
the best would have been the x800xt and still is when you can find them.
still a bit rough for WoW with settings minimized. ( I have one )
current that I have seen is only a 256 card ( ATI card also ) and no where near the card the x800xt is.

Hmm, well it seems we can't include URLs right now. Anyway, there is an ATI X800 XT on eBay but I think you'll still need the DVI to ADC adapter to plug into the 23" display.

Thanks for the responses. I visited the 'Bay after getting the original recommendation. I saw a number of those cards available--all pretty costly--but most of 'em didn't have the extra PC 'fingers' for the card edge ADC power connector that's on the motherboard. I did see a couple with the connectors, but again, they were expen$ive.
OTOH, I have an HIS 2600XT AIi-based AGP card I've recently pulled out of a PC. No ADC connector so I'd have to get the adapter if I wanted to use a Cinema Display, but... I'm just wondering if the card would have to have a Mac BIOS flashed to it, or if it would work as-is?

Great...I just did a couple of searches. HIS doesn't have anything on their site concerning Mac support. Apple sells (sold) this card only in a PCI-e version for Mac Pros and has a flash update for that version. It looks like a flash for the card may be harder to find that I thought it would be. Back to the drawing board...

Damn you, Scorpius! Damn you! ;)
You are going to have too much fun being productive with that baby. Now that I have a career?read: no more school?I should be in the market for a Mac Pro sometime in the future, but until I get everything in my MusiCatalog database transferred to Music Collector, I still need Classic. Fortunately, my Power Mac G5 is still serving my needs. In the meantime, an additional 2GB RAM is waiting to be installed and four 1 TB hard drives have been acquired to upgrade my storage (2 internal, 2 external backup).
