100 new features? Whine.
Making us wait vs. not telling us anything until summer? Whine.
Still more on your wish list? Whine.
You can make all of the people happy some of the time and some of the people happy all of the time but apparently, when it comes to Apple, you can't seem to make many people happy no matter what.
I buy a device for what it does at the time and if I get some improvements along the way, it's a bonus and I'm happy. If the product doesn't do what I want, I don't buy it in the first place. I buy something else.
Give me 100 improvements on top of scores of other improvements along the way since my purchase and I'm delighted that my investment paid big dividends. Perfect? No. Never was and never will be. Better than what I bought? You betcha'. Lots.
Surely ain't gonna whine about that.

This is So APPLE! Sells a phone, improves it's OS to the point where the hardware won't support the enhancement (MMS, stereo bluetooth, etc.) How about a low-cost trade-up for original iPhone owners who have had to suffer through foot-dragging in the enhancement process. Admit it: the original iPhone was a high-priced BETA. Make things right APPLE!

PPC reached it's limitations years ago. Do you have any idea how much Apple wasted on research trying to make a G5 chip work in a laptop? Do you have any idea how much slower a PowerBook G4 was when compared with even the first gen Core Duo MBPs? Almost the same case with the iPhone vs iPhone 3G. Just accept the rabid consumerism ... Better products are better.

"Many American's do not know how to use many things, many American's (97%) do not use or know how to use utensils properly, can't hold a fork and a knife in a proper manner..... "
Please cite authorative or other reference regarding the 97% statistic.
"so it is no surprize that "NO ONE" uses MMS."
Please cite authorative or other reference regarding the 0% MMS usage statistic.:_|
Thanks.;)

First I was attracted by the Nokia N97 but was disappointed with its screen resolution. More over I think Nokia needs to think in better microprocesors for their devices and Symbian needs more developers since I've finding better software for Windows mobile than for Symbian.
Then now I'm waiting for the HTC Touch Diamond 2!
Would the iPhone 3 be a match in the hardware arena for the competition? I would like to see the performance of the N82's GPS, 5 mpixels camera, stereo bluetooth and better support for Wi-fi signals in the iphone 3. They already have an advantage on the usability arena, so that would make a kick-ass device!
Cut and paste imho it's not a selling point for me. If I'm going to wait a little more to try a new device they have to impress me.

Early adopters usually get screwed; and that is why I am an early adopter no more.

Early adopters don't get screwed. They get the new stuff first, and have a period of time when nobody else has it.
If this isn't good enough for you, then you're not an "early adopter", just a consumer who bought too early. ;-)

I am the second person on a four-page thread to be satisfied with the iPhone 3.0 improvements! But, I think that says more about the new people attracted by the iPhone, particularly jailbreakers, than the Apple community as a whole. These people are chronically dissatisfied with anything Apple does. The prize for contempt for Apple on this thread goes to new member erictowse, the commenter who demands that Apple allow owners of original iPhones to exchange their current devices for 3G iPhones. In other worlds, Apple should undermine its financial stability to give him free stuff. I would not believe anyone could be that daft if I had not read the comment myself.

Will the second generation iPod touch support this bluetooth peer-to-peering? It does have a chip inside for the Nike sports kit. I would think they would be using this. No?
I dont think this is bluetooth, but RFID. Bluetooth requires a lot more power than RFID. But peer-to-peer using WIFI.

Chief10 had it right, but it's not a problem. My beloved G4 Cube (let us all pause a moment to remember its passing) gradually became less useful as applications became more demanding. It was a great computer, but I don't lament its passing. I got a good 5 years of use from it as I suspect Chief10 will from his iPhone. Then he can chuckle at the iPhone 3G users when he takes out his new iPhone-Fuse.
