Simple software for drawing a block diagram

I want to draw out a schematic diagram of the wiring of a computer setup in a church. All I really want is to be able to draw boxes, lines and text. What's the simplest software for doing this ? I've considered Google Sketchup and it looks over complicated. Also, ideally I'd like to generate a PDF and for that you need Google Sketchup Pro.
