I am lokoing for a recommendation for good audio file editing software to use on my Mac. I am planning to record music on a portable digital recorder (Zoom h4 Handy Recorder) in mp3 file format. I will be recording our contemporary music performances at our church and would like to be able to take the recording file (which is one long MP3 file) and break it into tracks so I can play the performances back in song format. Can anyone recommend a good basic software that can accomplish this task? Thanks!

If you have a copy of GarageBand, I'd start there as you already own it.

I've devoted a section of iWeb for Musicians to this subject.

Audacity is really good and free!

I use Bias Peak LE 6.
