BattleZone was fun, but I was always a fan of Spectre. My buddies and I enjoyed playing that on our LocalTalk network at the old job. That's a game that deserves to be resurrected.
I whole-heartedly agree. Spectre has to be one of those games that should be resurrected, especially for Internet play.
MMO Spectre anyone?? :^0

There are a few game similar to Spectre popping around out there. One game that I love is from GarageGames; it's called ThinkTanks, and it's playable for free online play (on Macs and PCs) via their InstantAction service. It's less Battlezone and more Atari Combat, modified for today's more discriminating tastes. Regardless, it's still stupid fun. :)

Spectre and Spectre Supreme will always hold a special place in my heart. I have fond memories of working for a Mac software developer (On Technology, makers of ON Location and Meeting Maker) and the bunch of us going to Macworld Expo in Boston (before it moved to New York), buying a bunch of copies of Spectre, and playing AppleTalk-based games on our machines after regular business hours. I don't remember have more fun gaming on the Mac until Marathon came out. :)

My first multiplayer experience was with Marathon. That was quite the experience! It had such great background SFX, that I jumped out of my skin when my wife put her hand on my shoulder.
