iTunes Album Artwork problem

I have run into this problem several times and am looking for a way around it. Often times, the best artwork available for an album will be the iTunes Store artwork. For that reason, it is my preference for that artwork to initial add to my albums that I load into iTunes, but this has led to another problem. A good many times, the iTunes artwork sucks and I go and find much clearer, better artwork. In capturing new albums artwork, it often changes artwork on some of the other albums. How can I stop that from happening?
