Hi, there can anyone tell me how to network my Imac with my windows based PC's? The window based PC's see the Mac but cannot access it. The Mac does not see the windows based PC's at all. Thanks for the help. Lynn McBride

on the Windoze side did you share the C$ (C: Drive) ?

What method are you trying to see the Windows machine?

It is Window Vista and the public file sharing is not on. Is this what you mean? Also about the MAC question you asked, I am not sure what you mean. Thank you.

to access the PC from the Mac you need to share the data (however you do that through Vista).

usually we access PC's through Finder -> Go ->connect to server

Hi, I did turn the sharing on the c drive on the pc to share. I did as you said in finder, and it asked me to connect to server, which is blank. It seems to me this should be fairly simple. But then what do I know. Thanks for your response.

To have the Windoze computers access the Mac, this might help:

http://docs.info.app....5/en/8201.html

This might help when trying to connect to the Windoze computers from the Mac (note you need to have something setup to be "shared" on the Windoze computers):

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1568

Note: One thing that can "mess up" Windoze networking is Workgroups. You may need to make sure that ALL the computers (Macs and Windoze computers) are set to use the same Windoze Workgroup. If you are unsure how to do this, then I can help.
