Xcode Help Please, I can't compile.....

I have been trying code for my Learning Objective-C on the Mac 2009 and this is what I get when I build and run
Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.0 failed with exit code 1 + Line Location Tool:0:

Is this because I am using Xcode with iphone sdk?

I do not know how to fix this problem.

Cocoa programming by hillgrass the codes work?

Is it that the author doesn't know how to write correct code(1st book)?

I figure out that when I open the already created xcode projects from the book, after I compile I get the error, but when I make the project myself and copy the code and build and run the program it works!

Do not know why this happens? But I solved my own problem
