Capturing DV footage from Canon HV-30 to Final Cut Pro 5.1.4

I am trying to capture standard DV footage from a Canon HV-30 to Final Cut Pro 5.1.4
I can control the HV-30 via firewire in Final Cut but no video will display or capture

I've adjusted every setting and preference I can find, but no success

HELP!
