We camp a lot, ofter in places where wifi is not available. But I have my iPhone along and can get email, but no docs or pictures you can read. Is there an app that will allow transfer of iPhone content to my Mac using a cable or whatever?

Are you saying you get attached Word or PDF or JPG files in email that you want to get to your Mac from the iPhone?

Yes, and even long email that are very hard to read with the small screen on an iPod, or some email you want to make a copy of.

Long emails might be tough, but I am fairly sure that Word, PDF, etc attachments should be do able. It likely won't be doable by the sync cable, but could be doable by way of a WiFi connection.

There are certainly apps that you can get on the App Store that will allow you to transfer such files between your iPhone (or iPod Touch) and your Mac (or Windows PC). I don't recall if any can deal with email attachments or not. I will play with the app that I have and see...and post back.

FWIW, things might become easier for such stuff when the iPhone 3.0 update comes out, but won't know until that happens.
