Hard Drive dying/Time Machine backup

I assume this is a program that runs in the Mac OS. If so, try going into the Library folder and see if there is preference (aka plist) file for it. If you can find one, move it to the desktop and logout and login and see if it will create a new one...and I would suggest doing this with the old Bootcamp partition gone or its drive removed.
