Poor connection and dropped calls? My perception is this is an AT&T problem. I hate Sprint, but they had better reliability everywhere I've been. My wife has a BB Bold and I have an iPhone. We have more call problems than when we were with Sprint. We are in Houston, and basically this is true all the way up I-35 to the Kansas City area, which is home to Sprint.
Deathmatch: BlackBerry versus iPhone

A couple of things to add if I may. I've had a blackberry for the past year and use it for my business. I can say that I've never been happy with the web browser or the way the email works as you stated, I find myself checking the email with the phone and later putting the important mail in folders when I get back to my desktop, I've installed Opera to solve the browser issue for the most part. I also have issues with the track ball not working like it should from time to time, in short I'm not very happy with it. However I have Verizon and I can say that the VZ navigator (GPS) is excellent, in fact it is it's one redeeming quality in my opinion, I use it extensively. I've also tried some of the apps and have found them less than useful and the fact that it has to reboot once something has installed is a pain (the more that a Blackberry has installed on it the longer the reboot time). I've also had issue syncing with my mac, everything seems like some kind of work around, it seems evident to me that it was designed for PC users and that is about it. A better marketing plan might have been to make it more mac friendly, in fact I bought the Blackberry because the folks selling it to me told me it would work just fine with my mac with just a little piece of software that I could download for free, several updates later it works, sort of.
Two weeks ago I purchased an iPod touch and I love it, in fact I'm counting the days until my contract is up so that I can get an iPhone and be done with it (I'm not happy about having to switch networks though). I can sum it up like this, "It's the app store stupid". They really thought that part out and made the iPhone/iPod touch something that is truly useful in so many ways. I love browsing the web with my iPod but as you stated the lack of Flash support is a glaring omission that needs an app or something to rectify. I have some reservations about the iPhone however, namely it's lack of a camera. I use the camera on my blackberry extensively and I hope by the time I'm able to get an iPhone that has been worked out.
In summery both are great products in their own right I just wish the world of PC and Mac would get along better so that those of us trying to make a living using these devices would have an easier time of it, after all these things were created to increase productivity not decrease it.

Your comment about the iPhone not having a camera blows my mind.
Are you sure you meant to say camera?? Because it has had a camera since the day it came out.
What the iPhone DOESN'T have is a flash and the ability to record video.
But there are screenshots that were just released on the web that show the iPhone with a brand new autofocus lens and video mode.

Well I stand corrected, please forgive my ignorance. I guess the only thing that stands between me and an iPhone at this point is 372days. I know how many days it is because my iPod has a "how many days untill" calendar that I got for free at the app store. I really do see the iPod/iPhone as the next generation of communication/PDA devices.
One more thing I forgot to mention about the Blackberry is that you can program the hot key on the outside to lock the keyboard to prevent "ass dialing". I still forget to do it from time to time though.
