Does anyone know what the deal is with the WindoServer process? For about the past week it has been running above 90% which is causing the system to come to a crawl and cranking the fans. My only remedy is to kill the process, which results in the closing of all running applications. I've searched around but can't find a solid answer. Anyone have any thoughts?
I'm running a MacBook 2.16 GHz Core2Duo / 4GB / 10.5.7 with all updates installed.
Seems to happen most often when I'm running Safari (4 Public Beta 5528.17). The only other open program is Adium.
Thanks!

Following up with additional information:
I use Rivet to stream media to my Xbox. I closed the the background process and several minutes later WindowServer calmed down. I'm not sure if they're related, I'll do some testing.
EDIT: It spiked back up again with Rivet still closed. Rivet ruled out.
