I can't find any information about how much stamps cost (other than your mention of $2 for one). Is it listed anywhere?

"If you want to send it via snail mail, you purchase a virtual stamp
right from the application ($2 for a single one, but they get cheaper
if you buy a package of several) and your card gets printed out on
high-quality paper and sent anywhere, worldwide, without any further
action from you."

My understanding from this, is that for $2.00, they print it and mail it anywhere in the world.

I just emailed the developer about the total absence of price information on his website. That's a big "Duh???"
There is a similar iPhone (also a free download) called Snapshot Postcard that, unlike Postino, requires registration but advertises per-postcard fees "as low as $1"--presumably meaning that you have to buy a bunch of credits to get the $1 price.
For what it's worth, the Postino app is almost three times the size of Snapshot Postcard, which may or may not mean that more templates are included with Postino.

In a couple of months I'm going to be on a boat for almost a week. How fun would it be to send a postcard right from the middle of the ocean?

As long as you have access to the network, that would be cool!!

iPhone developers interested in working with the Web-to-Print/Mail engine used by Postino for other cool phone-to-print apps should get in touch with www.AmazingMail.com.
