Of course, the main difference between a playlist and folder or other grouping structure is that playlists play the next item in the list when one finishes. I assume that's true of the playlists you are discussing.

Can these video playlists be shuffled? It drives me crazy that you can't shuffle video playlists on the AppleTV

This is a sweet little tip. Thanks, Chris! I have a mini speaker system that my iPod Touch pugs into - but only vertically. I love being able to have my videos play in vertical orientation now.
I also love the fact that all the videos in the playlist will play one after the other. I like to keep TV episodes on the Touch and prefer them to keep playing. And the ability to actually organize them into the playlists I want is also appreciated.
Thanks!

is iPhone/iPod touch support Playlist application?I've guess that would be a very helpful application to be used especially when you like to organized your videos. Just imagine you have a thousand of videos that have a different genre. I've guess it would be easy if you have a playlist since it will be easy for you to find those videos that you want to use.

Thank you for the article and tip. I found a nuance that caused me some trouble, hope my struggle spares someone else trouble in the future.
During my various attempts to get my playlist of videos to load properly I enable "Sync Movies". Later when I found this article and got my videos flagged as music videos, I kept getting told I did not have enough free space to load my videos. I knew my videos were less than 5 GB in size and that I had at least 6.5 GB free space. After trying lots of things I found that there was some duplication of files happening due to the fact that "Sync Movies" was selected, even though I had no movies or anything selected there. When I removed this setting, sync'd and fixed my playlists again, all was well. BTW, I was using a PC running iTunes, perhaps this was the issue. Dunno.
Short tip: make sure "Sync Movies" is not selected, or else you will duplicate some of the videos in your playlist. They will be ungrouped under videos and more storage space will be consumed.

Last year I had no problem creating a playlist of only videos in iTunes and syncing it to my iPhone 4S. It's is much more convenient to have several videos play back to back in the "Music" app than choosing them one at a time in the "Videos" app.
Unfortunately, sometime in the past four months (probably after upgrading iOS to 6.1 or to iTunes 11) I've been unable to see the videos in my playlists except for a brief moment under the following conditions:
1.) Open a playlist containing several mp4 videos
2.) Press "Edit", then the "+" button to add one or more songs to the playlist
3.) Hit "Done" and now (still in edit mode) you can see the videos in the playlist.
4.) Hit "Done" again to finalize the playlist and watch the videos disappear again!
Apple needs to get on the ball with creating superior experiences with their software/hardware integration. Thanks for the tip of retagging all my movies as "music videos" as my playlists are full of the content that should have been visible the whole time (however now it's harder to manage my videos because they're now "music" and no longer show up in iTunes as "movies."
Cupertino better get their act in gear ASAP. The last time I had to do an "end run" around a system glitch like this I was using a PC running XP!
