And that is exactly their ace in the whole, multiple carriers.

You are not familiar with the Palm Pre, are you? It is not offered on multiple carriers, Sprint only. Verizon spread rumors about selling it, but Sprint said they have not announced the length of their exclusive contract with Palm. So they have no ace in the hole.

If they owned one and didn't like it, how is it "user error"? Under that logic, all the troubles people have with Vista are "user error." The bottom line is that some people prefer a physical keyboard. I would not be surprised to eventually see an iPhone model with a physical keyboard.

They didn't say they didn't like it, they claimed it was hard to use. That is user error. How hard is it to tap a letter on the screen? The on-screen keyboard on the iPhone offers a larger button layout than the extremely tiny physical buttons on a slide out phone. A cellphone's keyboard has nothing to do with Vista, so your argument makes no sense. You will never see an iPhone with a slide out keyboard.

You are not familiar with the Palm Pre, are you? It is not currently offered on multiple carriers, but in 6 months (no rumor), it will be on verizon, and probably on more thereafter.

Unfortunately, you make the mistake of confusing rumors for fact.

What's your point. The article you linked to does not provide any evidence of sorts. We all know that Verizon will pick up the Pre at some point. That's not in question. Sprint has come out and claimed that the "6 months" is not the correct exclusive contract date. Your posted claimed six months is not a rumor, yet you link to an article that doesn't have any specific facts regarding dates. So, what's your point? You presented something as "not rumor" which simply is not the case.

"we all know that verizon will pick up the pre at some point. That's not even a question"

didn't you just say that i had no evidence that the pre would be on multiple carriers?

Why don't you finish the sentence? You claimed in "6 months". I supplied you with a link quoting Sprint denying the duration of their exclusive contract was 6 months. To date, there has been no official record stated regarding the duration of Sprint's exclusive contract. Rumors have suggested 6 months. You've regurgitated that rumor as fact. Sprint has outright claimed that the rumored "6 month" duration is incorrect. The actual duration of the contract apparently remains a secret. Yet, you continue to go on and claim the 6 month duration is fact and cite a Macworld article that merely discusses rumors.

I never said six months, all I said, I believe, was that it would be on multiple carriers.

It's amazing how you can boldly make such false claims as if this cannot easily be verified. Here's a little refresher for you. I'll add the emphasis for your convenience.

Oh, well thanks for verifying that for me
Logic dictates that if the sprint contract is 6months (it probably will turn out to be so) and verizon is planning to jump on to it then, then it will be on multiple carriers in six months.
