I just had the failure to launch on my external drive with Tiger. Have no idea how that happened because I don't recall doing a re-install of Tiger on that drive since I last launched the app. Both iPhoto and iDVD were dead. Once bounce and nothing. Reinstalling only those two apps solved the problem. The entire suite does not need to be re-installed.
Uninstalling iLife '09 and returning to iLife '08 was beneficial on my iMac G5 2.1. iPhoto 8.x was just too slow. Reverting to '08 Suite solved that problem

I gotta say, the "fix" for the app start issue is lame. There must be some simple solution somewhere in config files, plists or similar. That might be a "geek only' solution, but much faster, and reinstall reeks so badly of Redmond it's not even funny. And down the line someone (Apple?) can put together a pointy-clicky mini app to perform the arcane command line invocations for those who shudder at the thought. How hard can this all be?

I gotta agree with 'cweber'. That's not a fix. That's a half-assed work around. C'mon Apple, get with the program!

Isn't a half-assed work around a reacharound?

It depends on where you're coming from.

How does this affect photos uploaded to Mobile Me from within Aperture (2.0)?
it sounds like the compression that is happing is iPhoto's work. In this case, I would think that Aperture's "exporting" function faires much better.
Is this the case? (Sorry, unable to do my own tests right now - in the field)

After upgrading iLife08 (worked) to 09, iWeb will not publish; return error -

An error occurred while publishing file “/private/var/folders/ZP/ZPfuQrlHwyzQn-YKa7-LkTI/TemporaryItems/com.apple.iWeb576TEMP2685192539/sites/site/Media/canvastransport-right-D01.png”

Have seen posts where this "went away" - this is not going away; cannot maintain site! Help!!
