Thanks for the two roundups. My dad has a fairly large collection of wine (in an excel spreadsheet). I generally don't think he needs food based recommendation since he likes to talk to the sommelier. But is there an app that would be good for him? I really want iPhone and he wants one (so he can have spectator access whenever he's shopping for wine...) so is there a good app that could add to my chances of being in line friday? Thanks.

If you're talking about a way to track your wine collection, one app we haven't reviewed is My Wine from Mobile Vision Software ($4), which keeps a record of wine collections. And the iPhone version of Bento is geared toward that sort of thing.

That looks interesting. I've thought about Bento for his wine collection, but he's pretty stuck in the ways of his excel spreadsheet. Though I may have other uses for Bento myself....

Thanks for the review, Ben, great write-up!!
We have some big plans for improving the "Sharing" aspects of the free Hello Vino app - we'll have a big update coming out this month, so please download the app and you'll receive the update automatically.
We appreciate your honest review, and hope to make Hello Vino a five-star app!
Sincerely,

As another alternative, check out iWine (iTunes Link) for an easy to use, yet elegant application to manage your wine cellar. iWine is available from the iTunes App Store. More info can be found at www.ageasoft.com/iwine

Thanks for these reviews! When I went to iTunes to take a look, I also found Nat Decants Wine & Food Matcher, love it!
380,000 pairings, incredible depth from a sommelier & wine writer who's won lots of awards ... check it out
