I would never really have said Myst's original sound effects were immersive but htey weren't bad. Of course the original graphics were relatively unbelievable for their time. The small animations and video in the original were worth all the effort it took to find them all. It was the sheer magnitude of the story, running from that CD, that was so impressive I think. Very cleverly written and remember it was turned in to a whole book and series I believe.

I bought and played it within a week of its release. It was a nice blast from the past and quite enjoyable on my iPod Touch. Nevertheless, I would recommend that first-timers play it on a larger screen, either by connecting their device to a larger monitor or playing an old Mac or PC version.
When playing on my 1G touch, I found that most screens were too dark when using automatic brightness adjustment, so I turned it off and set brightness to maximum while I was playing it.
Do use headphones or a good audio system.

What a silly "review"... you cannot even start this game within half-an-hour... you need at least a week to see anything.. this person is obviously expecting some kind of shoot-up-up. This is a classic game but does require intelligence and patience to get the best out of it.

I do have to agree that the brightness is set a bit too low with it, but otherwise, I found it very enjoyable after completing it a few weeks back. They even added a few considerations for the fact that we have to use our fingers instead of cursors, such as zooming in on buttons that would have otherwise been too difficult to click on accurately.
If you're new to the series, this may not be the best place to start, but if you played it before, it's a nice blast from the past. A VERY nice one. Well worth it.

Cool. Now how about Myst for, I dunno, Mac? I know the iPhone is the platform du jour but some of us want to relive memories of some of the greatest games of all time they way they were meant to be played. Nintendo is a company that understands this and obviously they're making a ton of money doing it (or they wouldn't be doing it constantly).
