I'm finding that Spotlight will not include Calendar events older than one year in a search.
I have many years worth of events in my Calendar and I transferred them all to my iPhone since I need to refer to old events (freelance jobs) for work needs. If Spotlight searches will not include events older than 1 year that would be a ridiculous limitation. Anyone else having the same experience?

I am shocked that one year later this problem has not been addressed. How can they call this a business tool when you can't search more than a year? Yet aggravate you by knowing the info is actually there in the iPhone. What am I suppose to do say, "i don't remember what we had in common 3years ago <insert client> or what we discussed so can you remind me when it was last EXACT DATE WE had a meeting?". I am appalled no outraged that they actually market this product <iphone 3gs> as a business tool. Come on Apple what the +,*%@!* hold up. My kid is all excited that I can't find a solution to this glaring oversight , I guess that all this thing really is A VERY EXPENSIVE toy. It has no real business function if it cant do the most basic of computer functions "101". Back I go to WM5 Pocket pc. 5 year old technology!! Apple!

C.Lookie will search by phone number or address and let you call or edit the contacts you find. http://fishh2o.com/C.Lookie/

Thanks ConKon for the heads up. I'll give it a try. Informant although priced accordingly for the features, does a great job. If i meat somebody pulling their hair out i have recommended this app I am still blown away iPhone doesn't come with a detailed scale orientedl search engine that goes back more than a year.

Regards

Finally there is a search app for iPhone iPad etc. For calander, music, apps, contacts.
Works on my 3GS phone also
Searches are scalable also so speed of os can be adjusted
Can't say enough about this app.
I can finally stop carrying my pocket pc around just to perform searches in calander that are more than a year old !

I am just so pleased about this seemingly frustrating oversight by apple.

The app is called "search out"

Available in app store.

Got it today and it Rocks!! For those of you wanting to have access to your calendar information on the fly withought Internet cloud search this is the holly grail.

Can you tell I use this function often:)
