Yeah well there wouldn't even be any families if it weren't for naked women. Did they ever think of that?

Even families love a good fart joke! The fart apps are always good for a silly laugh!

You know in the good old days before high tech gizmos and iFart apps families just sat around the living room and actually took turns farting. Now that was real entertainment. It also led to the development of the aerosol air freshener industry. Those were the days, my friend.

CNN.com has corrected their story about the "Hot Babes" iPhone app and Apple has apparently released a press release. (You two guys who posted links to the PC World article and said Macworld should update their report might want to pay attention here.)
While I don't know how mere mortals can get a copy of the the press release (it's not listed on Apple's press release web site) this is what CNN.com said in their updated story.
{quote}By Thursday afternoon, Apple?s public relations team felt the need to weigh in. From Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr:
Apple will not distribute applications that contain inappropriate content, such as pornography. The developer of this application added inappropriate content directly from their server after the application had been approved and distributed, and after the developer had subsequently been asked to remove some offensive content. This was a direct violation of the terms of the iPhone Developer Program. The application is no longer available on the App Store.{quote}
Personally, I think porn is great! I'm not talking nudity; I mean nasty, sticky, hard core porn. (Sorry if that offends you, holy rollers.) But I don't think Apple needs to get in the business of distributing nudity, and I think it's good that Apple yanked this app. The guy tried to pull a fast one and then he apparently lied about it, claiming that "he" asked Apple to yank the app. I wonder if we will soon hear that Apple has found a use for the infamous "iPhone app kill switch"?

{quote}Apple did start an adult screening process supposedly, so why isn't this allowed there?{quote}
Yes, and Apple "supposedly" approved a porn app for the iPhone today and then the developer "supposedly" requested Apple temporarily remove the app because his servers were being hit too hard. Except "actually" neither one of those things is true, as evidenced by the Apple press statement quoted on CNN.com.
{quote}From what I understand, it's not explicit nudity either.{quote}
What exactly is "not explicit" nudity? Definition of explicit: "stated clearly and in detail, leaving no room for confusion or doubt." So by "not explicit" nudity you mean that we can't tell if she is naked or not? In my experience, nude is nude. While a naked women might get me confused, I'm generally not confused about whether or not she's nude.
{quote}I don't see the big deal.{quote}
It's not a bid deal. Apple doesn't allow it in apps they sell. Go get your nudity/porn yourself. No big deal.
