Not really. Apple did start an adult screening process supposedly, so why isn't this allowed there?

Besides again, this is just nudity. From what I understand, it's not explicit nudity either.

I don't see the big deal.

I don't know how you found all of that in what I wrote. I'm just poiting out that "adult movie" is synonymous with "porn".

Um... Dan... did you notice your Freudian slip when you wrote:
Right or wrong, it’s Apple’s ball-game
?? Indeed!

Even Disney makes and distributes adult movies through Touchstone and other divisions.

Then Wondercow said:
Uh, big, big difference between "adult movies" and "restricted", "mature theme", or "adult-oriented"

Prompting melgross to reply:
Not really...

To which Wondercow retorted:
I'm just pointing out that "adult movie" is synonymous with "porn".{quote}

And then ceej jumped in and yelled:
Well, Wondercow, perhaps you've been living under a rock and didn't hear that Disney just merged with Vivid! Wait 'til you see the next Pixar flick, "Still Up!" Starring Jessica Rabbit, like you've never seen her before!

Explicit, since you apparently have never seen nude shots or soft core, is considered to be "spread shots", and other images of that nature.

Do I really have to explain further? You can't be all that innocent.

It seemed as though you were considering nudity to equal adult movies.

When I said adult, I wasn't meaning XXX.

So, is that how Phil Schiller should explain Apple's new line of iNude apps? "Hey, it's not like they've got "spread shots" you know. It just a little T&A!"

If your kid is too young on immature to handle photos of a nude woman, they're not mature enough to handle having an expensive iPhone either. There is in fact, very little logical reason why any kid needs an iPhone. It used to be parents rationalized their phone purchases for Jimmy and Janey as being safety related. "I want them to call me if they have an accident or get in trouble at a party" or similar reasons. What's the excuse for getting a kid an iPhone vs. say a $50 phone and basic plan from some other carrier? It all boils down to placating kids.
That Apple would have to restrict an app that shows topless pictures (hardly a xxx site that any kid could access anyway) is pretty silly when you get down to it. If people would just have an ounce of backbone when it comes to giving their kids every gadget they've ever wanted and letting them text 12 hours a day, etc... this would be a non-starter.

Better remove Safari then.
You can see all sorts of adult content with it.

Ah, yes, maturity is playing lift your shirts and skirts so I can see your naughty bits. That is adult/mature. It happens in every playground, doesn't it. And nobody really outgrows it, do they? And of course it is all very respectful, all the nice names we find for somebody's daughter on the net...slut (a favorite of David Letterman), et al. And then there is the small issue of "trade", in that some of the porn on the net is basically slavers, making money off of little boys who just want new bits and pieces to look at, and will pay slavers to put it up on a website.

The idea that one has to get rid of safari is just silly. How about segregate porn and offerings like the little bits show in this app to some redlight part of the net, instead of having people vomit it up in your face, if you search through google, yahoo or even bing. I applaud Apple for not wanting this stuff in their store. There are plenty of places to buy it, look at it. And if you found your favorite playground girl or boy to play showme with, you can create an icon on your phone, of the website, and be taken right there for videos, pics etc, anytime you desire. I do it with weatherunderground to check the weather ANY TIME I WANT, what thrills that gives me. In any case, just because something is available on the net, does not mean that one has to offer it for sale on their sight/store. This is just illogical and foolish. And to assert Apple must sell the stuff is just silly.

What a silly discussion that somehow folk actually want to tell a storeowner that they should offer a product which is the epitome of immaturity in order to prove that they are mature and sensible adults.
