True, there is still some life left in these old games, however I agree that $30 is an oddly high price, given that CoD4 is on sale at Amazon for $41. I'm all for companies releasing their older titles, but it seems to make sense to do it for a more reduced price than this. Make it a $10-$15 impulse buy, and I think you'll get more so many sales that you'd make up for the price difference.

This is great news IMO. I'm a big fan of the CoD series and have CoD 2 and CoD 4 for my Mac.
I have the CoD for the pc but I've gotten rid of the pc that ran it. I'll gladly pick up the Mac version for $30.
Sure it would be great if it were less but $30 isn't a deal breaker and the game is a classic IMO.

So does this mean that it won't work on the New Mackbook Pro 17" with the 9400M and 9600M-GT Graphics Card?
No, because neither of those are Intel integrated chipsets. Both of those are manufactured by Nvidia. Intel integrated chipsets are the GMA 950 and X3100 chipsets found on older MacBooks, Mac minis and some iMacs.

Yah let's pay $30 for a completely outdated game. They should be giving it away or giving half the proceeds to some charity. Shameless.
I'm sure you can make that call when you're Aspyr's CEO. :)
Of course, you're free not to pay it if you don't think it's worthwhile. I hope you'll forgive me, but it strikes me as profoundly ignorant and arrogant to tell them how they should run their business.
In the interim, the acting businesspeople who run Aspyr incur some sort of expense licensing, developing and publishing these games, and presumably need to pay employees, utility companies, subcontractors, investors and anyone else that's involved in the business. Hence the $30 price tag.

My bet is that the $30 price is beyond just Aspyr's whim to control. Licensing a game like this for release on the Mac incurs some very strict prohibitions and limitations from the company that owns the property.

They also offer Call of Duty 4 "Modern Warfare" as a digital download as well.
In fact, it's the only other Mac game (besides their FutureU SAT prep stuff) that they have available via GameAgent right now; everything else is for Windows. I'm hoping Aspyr will be able to move forward with more Mac game download licensing before too long.

This is kind of an oldie so I don't remember the details, but CoD and UO both had crippling bugs on Intel Macs. One of the CoD missions caused a crash (riding in the back of a truck, I think), so you had to issue a console command to skip it. One of the UO missions could not be completed (bombing a bridge, I think), and I think the solution was likewise to skip it.
I wouldn't mind playing a bug-free version of these games, but I wouldn't pay $30 for the privilege. I hope Aspyr does release a patch for the retail version.
