Thanks for another great series! I hope this becomes a Macworld tradition.

Don't worry; we've been doing this for?if I'm recalling correctly?7 years now, and the past two years we've gone the Gem-a-day-for-a-month-or-so route, so it's unofficially a tradition ;)

Do please keep it up. The software that falls into your Mac Gems column is one of the best things about OS X - all the inexpensive but well-developed applications that do one thing (or a handful of things) extremely well. It's very helpful to have a trusted source find these applications and test 'em out.

That's a good point. In the old days (OS 7-9) I used to test shareware myself. It was doable then because there was not so much of it. I found many gems just by visiting Version Tracker. Now, however, there are just too many to sort through on my own, even for a shareware addict like me. So your gems column is a big help. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Imagewell from xtralean! Great little image editor: composite or layer several images, add graphics, callouts, text, adjust transparency, crop, add borders, and much more. What makes it for me is the built-in FTP/SFTP uploader. Makes adding quick custom graphics and embellished screenshots to my blogs and sites very easy
