Man, I have been waiting for this app since January. I bought it a few seconds after I got the release email. I have a feeling almost every Mac Podcaster will pick this one up. The only other app like this, that I found, was a subscription model based price that was outrageous, and not very Mac like. This app seems to not only be Mac like, but low cost as well. If you already have Wire Tap Studio, its only $19.
This will be a great app for non-podcasters as well. A place to keep all your neat sound effects, with the ability to add in effects is real nice. I also love that you can preview any sound file, right from within the open file dialog (although this has crashed on me a few times). All of the features are very well though out and implemented.

I love Ambrosia products of all types, and look forward to trying Soundboard.
If someone who knows more about these apps than I do could give a quick comparison of the pluses and minuses of this vs. Sound Byte from BlackCatSystems, I'd really appreciate it, and I bet others would too.
I do know that Sound Byte has 3 price points: $39, $79 and $149, which offer rack capacities of 75, 375 and 3750 recordings, respectively.
Thanks!

While I'm clearly not in a position to write a comparison review for you (I'm a tad biased, working @ Ambrosia) I can tell you that there is only one price point for Soundboard: $29. And then there is a 25% discount if you already own our WireTap Studio or WireTap Anywhere products.
There's no extra fee for additional "racks", you can create as many tabs of Soundboards as you like, with 32 sounds per tab. The UI was made intentionally simple to make it easy to use during a live performance.
As for the comparison, you can download it and try it out yourself, the demo version is fully functional (just with a voiceover on it).

Hello-
Glad to hear Soundboard will be useful to you, but I'm sorry to hear about the crashes you've experienced in the Preview function. We have not been able to reproduce any crashes here and haven't gotten any similar reports so we are eager to work with you to track down the cause and a solution.
Please contact Ambrosia tech support directly at help@AmbrosiaSW.com with the details, including any consistency you've found, and most importantly any crashlogs that may be inside your Home/Library/Logs/CrashReporter folder.
