Which version of the Mac OS are you running?

Here are instructions for Leopard:

I believe that older versions are rather similar.

thank you!
i've done all that but the pc seems to recognize only the network with the mac and not the internet connection. It seems there is sth that must be done on the pc but i don't know what! Is it so difficult for the pc to share the internet?

How does your Powerbook connect to the Internet? And how are you trying to share the connection with the PC? Are you trying to do both with an ethernet connection?

Keep in mind that in order to use Internet Connection Sharing your computer that will share the connection (whether a Mac or a Windows PC) MUST have two network adapters. It can be two ethernet ports. It can be one ethernet port and one WiFi adapter. It could be a wireless broadband adapter and an ethernet port. It could be a wireless broadband adapter and a WiFi adapter.

Can't you just plug the card into the PC instead?

If everything is setup to share properly, then connection the PC should be no different that when you try to connect the PC to any network. As long as the PC is set to "automatically" determine an IP address, it should be good to go. If you are still unsure, then we can likely dig up a Microsoft article if you tell us which version of Windows you are running.
