Facebook simplifies privacy settings, calls them too complex

Now if they only had a setting that would allow me to block ALL news items from the home page when a person takes one of those stupid "quizzes". Seriously, I don't care what Disney character you are more like. You can hide these stories individually, but the problem is there isn't a global setting for all of them. As soon as you hide one, 10 more new quizzes show up.

Consolidation of all privacy settings into one coherent interface will be a welcome change. Facebook does allow users to tweak their settings in very detailed ways, but it's not intuitively obvious where the controls can be found or what the results will be.
@ leftnotracks, Sigil -- maybe someday you'll both grow up enough to simply use technology to do the things you want to do and not worry about who else is using it. Whether it's Myspace or facebook, or twitter, and whatever replaces them as the latest thing, they're all just communication tools. They aren't inherently any cooler than usenet, email, the telephone, the telegraph, or the Pony Express. Get over yourselves.

If they get rid of regional networks and make everyone include people outside of Facebook, people may opt to be visible only to friends. People may not want their Facebook stuff to show up on Google.
They should quit trying to be twitter and concentrate on making Facebook better for Facebook users.
