I can't download the pictures to my computer. I am on vacation with only one memory card : ( and i need to make space....please help!

(i tried going through image capture and i photo and still nothing shows)

Try all the USB ports to make sure you don't have a bad port on your camera or it could be that your reader has gone kaput. It happens sometimes.

If you have the option to try it in another computer give that a shot to see if the issue is with your computer or the reader.

Try all the USB ports on your computer to make sure that's not the issue. If you can, try the reader in another computer to see if it is the reader or your computer.

Sometimes those readers just go kaput for no reason.

Do you have or can you get a USB cord that fits the camera's USB port? Some cell phones use these cords for charging — called "mini" and "micro" USB. If so, you have a workaround while on vacation. You can then use Image Capture or iPhoto download directly from the card while it is in the camera itself. Also, some more advanced cameras will mount directly onto your desktop like a drive. A few cameras even have a switch to set it to a mode called something like "USB mass storage device" that allows it to mount onto the desktop like a drive.

Beside the usb port, I would suggest that you try another computer.
