iMovie 09 - Event Clips Saved

I have just started using iMovie 09 and notice that a default folder is created when I am editing a project - called iMovie Events - and all my clips are in there. When I have finished/finalised a project, do I still need to keep that folder with the event clips in there? In other words, if I delete them, which I want to do as I am happy never to edit the project again, will it affect my finalised exported movie? I presume if I can delete them, that I can also delete the project now that I have a final movie?

Your exported movie, is a quicktime file, completely unrelated to all those files which make up a project. You can delete the project as well as any supporting files.
