I need an app that predicts whether there will be marine layer at the beach. Actually, one that tells me whether there is one currently might be good enough. It is quite disappointing to drive to the beach on a hot, sunny day only to find clouds and chilly weather about half a mile inland from the beach.

Sounds good for on the run. Now if they would only release a Mac version of their desktop app.

Seems like a webcam viewer for the beaches you frequent would be more helpful. That, plus a weather report, should tell you if there is a marine layer and when it's expected to burn off. If the beach you want is covered by Surfline.com, they are supposedly the gold standard in beach weather reports. HTH.

I really like the predictive radar. It's great for baseball games. The main thing I'd like to see are push notifications with weather warnings. A section with hurricane information would be good too so that you don't have to open another app.

Regarding "It sports a slick and intuitive interface" comment, although free and this max version sport much better interface than the original free offering, it still feels clunky to me. The wealth of information is worth putting up with clunky interface, however.

The word "slew" is getting grossly overused in software reviews and advertising, but thank you for not appending the word "features" to it. However, a new word is needed. How about "deluge?"

Anybody know why this app. requires a microphone? I see no use for one, but when I tried to install on my Touch 1G, with iTunes, it did not install. When I tried from the Touch using the App Store application it says I have to have a microphone to install this app?????? Is this a bug or have I missed a feature that needs a mic?????

If this reviewer had said "...takes one minute fifteen seconds for the map to draw", I could have saved myself 4 dollars. I don't know where the reviewer gets "a few seconds" from, but for me on a strong-signal wi-fi, it takes that long to load all 24 frames of the moving map. It takes WAY less time than that to load up 1 second's worth (24 frames) of a movie preview, so just what is going on? If it wasn't for this I would probably use it as my primary weather viewer, but for now I'll stick with WeatherBug (the paid version).
