Finally some people talking sense here.

Why? Because the post happens to agree with you?

>So by your reasoning I should get rid of all my macs and replace them with PCs because they only have a limited number of apps- as opposed to the plethora of windows apps available

Unfortunately, your logic doesn't hold water as there is also a plethora of Mac applications available. When you have 25,000+ applications available for the Mac, it's hard to argue that you don't have software choices. Obviously, more choices are better. However, application disparity between the iPhone and the Pre is several orders of magnitude.

It seems to me to continue to argue over which is a better phone is pointless. You love your iphone and I love my Pre. I don't really care whether my pre is an iphone killer or not. all I can say is it is the best phone I've ever owned, and after a month and a half of use, there are no scratches on my screen, which sort of amazes me as I use my phone constantly.

To iphone users, bless you. I'm glad you're happy with your phone. To pre users, the same. It doesn't really matter in the long run what phone you have as long as the individual is happy with it. Since I can't get an iphone from Sprint, and apparently won't for at least a couple of years, then it's nice to have something that works well for me. I no longer have iphone envy.

When you have 5000+ applications for Android, its hard to argue you don't have software choices.

Hurray for defending Android in an iPhone vs. Pre discussion! Android certainly has a lot more apps than the Pre, so that's good. However, there are other limitations on the Android Marketplace. For-pay applications are currently only available in 10 countries, and only developers from the US and the UK are allowed to offer for-pay applications. Therefore, less choice.

Short of sounding elitist, I'd just like to say quite frankly I don't really care since I live in the US.

As opposed to your great iPhone, which wilts and turns brown when it gets a little hot.

If you actually bothered to read the follow up reports, the discolorations were proven to come from the particular case used for the iPhone in question. Likewise, the "great" iPhone doesn't turn brown or get to hot.

Great, but what does this have to do with the Pre? Does the Pre have 5000+ applications? No? Then your point is moot (as usual).

We were talking about phones in general, but, by all means, continue to try to limit the conversation to make your points seem valid.

Agreed. If something in my previous post led you to believe I felt otherwise, then that would be my fault as that wasn't the point of my post. I was simply illustrating the reason behind some of the anti-Pre sentiment and much of it come from Palm itself. While people are quick to point out faults of the iPhone, my point was to make it clear that the Pre wasn't without issues either. That's all. I agree that the Palm and WebOS in particular are quite nice, even if I do personally prefer the iPhone.

Maybe you want to take another look at the name of the thread. What phones do you see mentioned? Pre? Yes. iPhone? Yes. Android? No. Huh?? ;-)

Maybe you want to read the article, or the rest of the thread.
