I didn't realise that watching Nova on PBS kills my brain. Yeah that episode about string theory really rotted my brain out. Maybe you just need to find television worthy of watching instead of dismissing an entire medium. I hear that House is a good show, and I don't remember anyone saying Frontline dumbed them down. Just because Jerry Springer is on doesn't mean I want or have to watch it.
For that matter I can watch someone get hit in the crotch all day long on YouTube does that mean I need to destroy my computer too.
Boxee: On beyond Hulu

I've gotten Boxee to run on my ATV... sort of. It was always so incredibly slow. Not the streaming really, the interface. I mean I'd try to open it and it would flash the Apple logo for a second, then hang there with half the Apple logo present for like 45 seconds, then finally open the ugliest GUI I've seen in a long time. Moving from screen to screen was at glacial pace. Just not a good experience. It's still on there, but I'd rather watch on my laptop that wait so long with the GUI on the ATV. I'm going to have to try Plex now.

I had the same problem as Jason with Hulu feeds not playing, just a blank with the timer counting along.
however, I just did the latest Appletv update and then reinstalled Boxee, and, now it works! nice. I can also pause now, where before, hitting pause would do nothing. So I didn't have to do the full Appletv restore, just fyi.

Thank you! I'm so frustrated by pious pseudo-intellectuals proudly proclaiming that they either don't waste their time watching TV or don't even own one. As if that makes qualifies them as some kind of unbrainwashable, independent, educated thinker.
It's just bullshit. Sure, there's a good amount of pop science on Discvovery, Science Channel, NatGeo and PBS, but who the hell reads an entire newspaper or magazine? You sift the good from the bad. Television is no different. You can watch a ton of TV and never watcj reality shows, sitcoms, or whatever you feel wastes your time.
Ironically, most people I know who don't watch television tend to be sadly ignorant about the economy, world news, politics, and so on. Sometimes I don't know which is worst: a moron or a pseudo-intellectual.
