Yeah, Sony's been pretty roundly trashed on many of the PS3 blogs for pulling this. Even many posters with Bravia TV's wrote that they would not use this feature.
Sony is without doubt the most stubborn, confused company I have seen in a long time. I love my PS3 but Sony needs to really hire some people who have a clue.

I agree. The PS3 has incredible potential to be the media box in the living room, but recently Sony has let it languish. The PS3 should have been first on the Sony block to gain access to Netflix streaming. Instead, it's treated like the red-headed stepchild. Methinks this is simply an effort to squeeze another $200 out of consumers for the Bravia Internet Video Link.

And if Sony had added it to the PS3, you'd have just as many people on those blogs complaining that Sony should concentrate on what should be the PS3's key selling point, games. People would be complaining about when cross-game invites or whatever are coming, etc. When it comes to anything PS3 related, Sony is damed if the do and damed if they don't.
I also think it was indicated when Netflix streaming was announced for the 360 that Microsoft had bought console exclusivity for this feature. So even if Sony wanted to add it, they still couldn't.
