I use Public Radio Tuner at home all the time to catch the great programming from Eugene OR - just out of FM range here in Portland. It works great for me over both 3G and WiFi connections. When I travel I tune in to my local NPR station from some hometown vibe.

Do any of these applications connect with streams from Interlochen Public Radio? (WIAA, WICA) NPR Addict does not seem to.

Thanks for the great write up. Glad we 'got the nod' - and a thorough and accurate one at that!
I want to let everyone know that in just a few weeks, version 2.0 will appear in the iTunes Store. We're calling it the Public Radio Player, because it will be quite different from the current Public Radio Tuner. Due to popular demand, we've added "Now Playing" schedules for each Live station stream, and On Demand streaming of past programs (e.g. last week's This American Life).
We've done our best to maintain the minimalism and clarity in the interface that you mention in your review. Keep an eye on publicradioplayer.org for a launch announcement.
