For the past several days, my iMac will automatically restart after being Shut Down. It shuts down like normal, the power light goes out, but within a few seconds, it starts right back up again! Why would it do this? And how can I make it stop? images/icons/confused.gif

Check the Power button on the front of the iMac. On some of these machines the button can get stuck to the point where the iMac thinks it's supposed to start because the button is being pushed. If that button feels a little indented, that's your problem.
You can usually fix it by pressing on the button slightly and moving it away from the cover that surrounds it.

You didn't mention what keyboard you have on your iMac. Many 3rd party keyboards have a problem with certain USB devices plugged into them. ZIP drives seem to be a big offender. If you have a 3rd party board, try unplugging everything except the mouse, and see if the behavior clears up. If so, plug the peripheral somewhere else. My Logitech keyboard did not like either my ZIP drive, or my HP inkjet printer. Good luck!
