Scorecenter is sad, just sad. I had such high hopes for it too. Hated it. I like Sporttap for the alerts, but the layout of sportacular the best. And, Philip, unless you're a Phillies fan, you're team sucks. Here comes the repeat!

To turn off the notification sound in SportsTap you go the iPhone Settings app, then Notifications->SportsTap->Sounds

Much obliged! Updating the story now, as I mutter darkly about why such a setting wouldn't be in the app itself.

You forgot to talk about another app that is also great and really promising! iScores. It gives results not only from US sports, but from all around the world!! It is still missing push notifications, but I'm guessing they'll come soon!! I'm staying with that one for now!!
