I use QB for Windows on my Mac using Parallels. In the "Coherence" mode it runs flawlessly as if it were a Mac application.

Turtlesoft has accounting for Mac. It's designed for construction and other project-based businesses, but works OK for other small business too. The interface is a little old-looking but it works well. Includes US & Canada payroll, and extra features like estimating and to do lists.

As the developer for Easy Books for Mac (http://www.easybooksapp.com/mac) I'm interested in what people use for their bookkeeping on the Mac. I was told a while back that there isn't as much choice on the Mac than on Windows. For years I used Parallels on the Mac to run a virtualised copy of Windows XP and had my accounting package in XP. Then my company started developing an app for iPhone and iPad called "Easy Books" with the obvious aim to make it easier to understand. We *just* launched the Mac app from the web site and one of the key features it has that sets it apart is that you can enter data or invoice from anywhere (iPhone, iPad or Mac). All changes are merged together on all devices with the online sync service. And unlike the online services, the app still works on an iPhone when there's no cell service. Some people enter their business expenses while flying back from a trip, then all their changes appear on their Mac when they next start the app.

Yoosh, I'll need to know how you did this...I am migrating from PC to MAC this weekend and I wish to keep using Quicken.

Check out the easy-to-use integrated accounting software from SpiritWorks Software Inc. Although most of their products are for rental property managers and owners, they also offer inventory management software that generates invoices for sales, rentals, labor and other charges. All their software includes income and expense tracking, scheduling, a to do list generator and other integrated modules. ** Download a Free trial for Mac and Windows computers at http://productivity-software.com **

I am searching for accounting software for use with a small trucking business. I am trying to avoid a monthly payment so I do not want to use anything web based. Does anyone know of any that will run on a MAC?

After buying Quckbooks, Windows 7, and Parallels software, and jumping (or squeezing painfully) through countless hoops to download and install them all, I finally learned today that with QB 2012 or newer, this IS NO LONGER TRUE! That is, QB is no longer supported to run on a virtual pc environment.

Have a look at MoneyWorks. You will be able to set up each vehicle as a cost/profit center, it scales nicely (from 1 to 30+ users), was designed for the Mac (although it also runs on Windows, so your accountant can access your file). Depending which version you get, your staff will be able to log their time in remotely against jobs if that sort of thing is of interest.

I'd love to see what you guys think of Monchilla.com. It released last October and has a ton of happy mac users. Its free for accounting and only $5 per month per employee for payroll.

I'd love to use Quickbooks but shockingly enough, it doesn't support all the on line banking one can find in its baby brother, Quicken. What's up with that? I'm using Billings, its working pretty well although its reporting capabilities are lacking and making custom reports requires a degree in rocket science.

What do you think of Monchilla.com? It's super easy to create a custom report.
