Well, it’s a nice thing to choose the type of camera you wanted to buy. But also, the qualifications of the desired gadget must be got.

I looked closely at the entire product line before I went with the SD880 IS. The wide-angle lens of the SD880 IS is far more valuable than a few extra pixels.
The lack of an optical viewfinder (in the SD880 IS) isn't such a big deal. Viewfinders in point-and-shoot cameras typically only cover about 70-80% of the actual image, so they're not as important as in SLRs.
The video quality (of my SD880 IS) is surprisingly good for a point-and-shoot camera and the audio is fine for video in a pinch. It's certainly better than my old Sony Cybershot (circa 2006).

You should look for reviews at dedicated digital photography sites. Macworld is a Mac-focused general technology site and the camera reviews here don't go into depth like the digital photography and digital video sites would do on their equipment reviews.
