Well, I downloaded version 2.00.00A of Epson Print CD from the Epson website. The good news -- it'll print under Snow Leopard, once you go through the printer update rigamarole. The bad news -- after you press command-P to print, be prepared to wait an entire minute of spinning beach ball before the print dialog comes up. Then, after you say print, wait another two entire minutes until it decides to start printing. You get the helpful instruction to "Preparing to Print. Please wait a while." I can't believe this made it through beta testing. You can probably print as many as six CDs per hour!

Rodney,

I also installed version 2.00.00A, but mine crashes as soon as I try to launch the program. Did this happen to you initially, and if so, how did you work around it? I need my Print CD to work again!

Help, please. I have an Epson Stylus Color Photo R280 that won't print CDs now that I've updated to Snow Leopard. I've updated the drivers for Mac OS X 10.6 from the Epson site. When I try to print from the Epson Print CD utility, there is a "Select Printer" button, but the only option is "Other Printer," which doesn't print to anything. I've updated my printers under the File menu in CD Print, and the R280 shows up under "Manual" print. But when I try to print from the manual option the printer returns an error: "An error has occurred."

Had the same issue with Print CD function not working on our Epson Stylus Photo R280. Just installed Snow Leopard. Was able to document print with no issue. The Print CD application was working until you got to the print window and the print button was grayed out. I called Epson and was told to go to the System Prefs under Print & Fax function. Was told to control click on the printer and then you get a popup window and then selected reset printer. It will erase all your printers but you just have to add them again. After this I was able to use Print CD without issue! Works fine now. Too bad they don't warn you of this on the Mac and Epson site.

Hope this helps some people.

I just now got it to work.

I did what you suggested and then once in the print CD program I went under file and updated printer information.

After that print was no longer gray'd out and select printed actually had my printer there for a change.

I just printed a test DVD and it looks good.

Wow, this absolutely saved my sanity. Thanks for all the info! I've been fighting my R280 for over a week. Now if only they would release a driver for the 2200!

Thanks All

I am running Snow Leopard with an Epson Photo R800. Have updated printer drivers, and am running 2.0.0A of Print CD. I load the CD tray into the printer, but when I try to print to the CD, I get the error "Out of Paper or Printer Tray in Wrong Position." I have run the update printer option in the software (2nd time went MUCH faster than the first), but still no resolution. It ran fine when the printer was on a Windows box. Guess I'll have to try printing thru VMWare until Epson can come up with working software.

Update: Just installed the latest driver and Print CD software in XP under VMWare on Snow Leopard. I can again print CD's on my R800. This definitely rules out the printer as the source of the problem. Did notice that on the Windows side, that the paper size defaulted to A4, so I changed it from letter to A4 on the Mac side but got the same error. I misquoted the error somewhat - its "Paper out or incorrect tray position". Maybe someone has a solution, I'm running out of ideas.

On the Mac side make sure you have downloaded the new Epson drivers from software update. On my R800 I got v. 2 of Print CD to work by choosing Manual Feed from the print dialogue box (rather than trying to choose your printer), then within the Manual Feed dialogue box choose your printer from the drop down list and paper size A-4/Manual Feed. That took me to a box with printer already chosen. Choose "CD/DVD" for media type and OK. Viola. It works! This is after much trial and error. I have now printed a bunch of DVDs after reboot and it seems to work fine.

I just wanted to add to this that in all the years I have owned an Epson R200 and now an R800, I've *never* used Epson's included software for anything -- and, as a result, have never had a problem printing to CD/DVD.

Those who are having continuing issues -- or just don't like crappy software -- are commended to invest in a good CD/DVD printing program like Disc Cover from BeLight Software. Works beautifully with Epson's "R" series (and many other printers) in Snow Leopard.
Cheers

I have searched and searched the internet trying to find a solution to this Epson Print CD issue.

Just upgraded to Snow Leopard, and like everybody else, my Epson CD software doesn't work anymore. I tried all the things people have suggested on this message thread. They didn't work for me. I also tried all the things Epson suggested. Likewise... nothing. (They suggest reinstalling the Snow Leopard software.... which took forever!!!)

But I finally solved it! I found a blog where a guy provides a template to use in Photoshop, which I use all the time -- and which is far superior than anything the Epson software could do anyway. His instructions are set up for an Epson R260. I have an Epson Stylus R320, but I tried this template and it worked perfectly. No more Epson Print CD for me!

here's a link to the blog:
