Here's the typical scenario:
a) Start an application that runs under Classic.
b) Classic starts up, and the app starts. Everything works fine.
c) Start up an OS X application (almost anything).
d) Classic disappears (crashes?), taking the Classic application with it.

Is this normal?

Thanks....

No, this isn't normal.

What OS X version are you running? What version of OS 9.x are you using for Classic?

Which Mac, how much RAM is installed, and what items do you have listed in your login preference pane?

I'm running Mac OS X 10.1.4 and OS 9.2 (though I saw the problem with 10.1.3). I've got 640 MB of memory.

The login preference pane lists: Microsoft Entourage; DragThing; Microsoft Mouse Helper; Palm Desktop Background; Transport Monitor; Super Get Info Helper (though it's failed with as little as Entourage and DragThing running).

Basically, I've seen this problem almost since I got the computer.
