Newbie, and the others here; It sounds to me like you have a new Mac and therefore will be loading software into it. Something I found out is that some (or all, not sure) software designed to run will give one a little surprise if you try to run it on a Mac with an Intel processor and that has Snow leopard installed. The information about it is included in Jason Snell's review od Snow Leopard. See Nov. issue of MacWorld, page 35 for info specific to this problem. It delivers a popup that says you must install Rosetta to be able to install your program that tripped the alarm. It stems from new MalWare in Snow Leopard, they way I understood it. And the ONLY Rosetta I knew at the time was language programs Rosetta. I wanted to mention this to Newbie or Engineer as he will likely be installing. At any rate, sorry for busting in but I was getting ready to formrt my hard drive, I figured this was a bug of some kind. All one need do isallow Snow Leopard or Mac, whoever, to install ROSETTA. The article is very interesting and very much worth a read.
Thanks for letting me barge in, fellows.

Softare designed for the PPC processor, I meant to say. That is what may trigger the warning. Sorry.
