I need a tip on how to connect in OS X my ibook to my old Laserjet HP printer. The printer has a parallel port and I can't find any adapter that works on OS X.
Printer is HP Laserjet 4L. I also have bought a cable (USB-to-parallel, from belkin), that works fine on OS9 but it doesn't on OS X.

What's the model number on that LaserJet?

The first place to check is HP. See if they have any drivers for your model.

I'm not sure about connecting your Mac to the printer via parallel, but you may be able to connect it via Ethernet.

Also, Apple's generic PostScript driver may work with this HP, but you'd have to be able to connect it first.

Good Luck!

If this HP LaserJet has ONLY a parallel port, it almost certainly was designed for use with PCs and does not have the Postscript capability required for it to be used with a Mac. There are many such models in the HP LaserJet printer series.

As ftaok indicated, it is essential to know what exact model of LaserJet you have before more specific advice can be provided.
