The screenshots in the sample pages show jpeg artifacts... I hope the real version has screenshots of a better quality.
(always use a lossless encoding for screenshots (tiif, png or gif for example)

I agree that jpeg is the worst format for capturing screenshots, but GIF is lossy and PNG can be (if PNG8 is used). They're lossy because they throw out all but 256 colors, which is a problem in this day of 24-bit interfaces. The best bets are PNG24 or TIFF.

More importantly, when you up-sample them for print (reaampling from 72ppi to 300ppi), you should choose "Nearest Neighbor" instead of the default "bicubic sampling." this will retain the sharpness of the interface elements. I'm always surprised how many publications (that should know better) print screen captures that are fuzzy - this comes from the nearest neighbor setting.

But the worst choice of all is jpeg, due to the artifacts. That choice gives you the worst of everything.
