An annoyance I have with the TV's are the placement of the cable outlets and the cables.
The extra HDMI outlets are at the side of the screen and the cables stick out beyond the frame. Let alone the cables sticking straight out the back.
Could the manufacturers give some thought to turning some of these jacks 90 degrees?
Or cables come with adjustable ends to redirect the cables?
Sites on the Internet offer these cables, why not in the store or better design on the TV.

You can purchase hdmi 90 degree adapters in each of the four orientations. There are also 90 degree antenna adapters and audio/video adapters. Deep Surplus has all of these for cheap.

Other annoyances found on smaller HDTVs:
1. Smaller units will only have 1 HDMI port when it should have 2 HDMI ports as Standard!
2. The spacing between the ports are very tight and may be troublesome when using more than 1 port.
3. Remote control is very basic as well as the manual. Universal remotes may not have the "code" to locate a code especially if the unit is NOT a "brand-name" company (i.e. AOC, Spectre).
4. Very difficult to find a 1080p LCD HDTV smaller than 26" at similar prices that you can easily find with a 720p LCD HDTV.
5. Questionable reliability and quality on brands (i.e. AOC, Spectre) that are not "brand-names".
6. Where's the DVI port? Some smaller units advertise that it can be used with computers. Most computer's video cards do NOT have VGA ports anymore but DVI ports (and some will include HDMI ports but only on High-end video cards). What's the point of VGA ports anymore? It's OUTDATED!!

While the rest of your complaints are well-founded, there is no point in making a 26" LCD with 1080p, which is why you'll rarely if ever find them. The human eye generally cannot detect the difference between 1080p and 720p on displays less than 42".
